Art Chicago Exposition 2009

MDRP back in Chicago for the Second City's International Art event of the
year. Making a few images of the city itself, here is a great view looking
South from Chicago Avenue.

Spectacles for Humans

Here's a glimpse of our recent product shoot for the MDRP portfolio. 'Spectacles for Humans', an eye-wear store operating out of LA and San Francisco, was very kind to lend us a pair of their glasses from the 'Orgreen' line for the week's shoot. Orgreen is an international company based out of Denmark and Japan, offering exclusive, hand-crafted frames in over 40 countries.

Heavenly Scouting

Local magazine requested scouting photography of a house in San Francisco's Mission District. We were lucky enough to meet the neighbors who extended an invitation to take in the dusk views of the city from their third floor windows. Never thought I'd see the redwood tree from this side of the street.

Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago 'First Fridays'

The branding campaign for MCA ‘First Fridays’ was quite a blast! MDRP ended up shooting with the photo booth style whitewall/ring light affect. I was able to capture up to 300 images a night documenting over 100 different guests.

Each month one image was selected for publication in ‘Time Out, Chicago.’ It was a lot of fun deciding which image would be published!

Tom Burr at New Museum

MDRP sent to photograph Tom Burrs submission in the grand opening of the ‘Unmonumnetal’ exhibit at New York City’s ‘New Museum’. The museum features clean, new, masterfully lit galleries. On display in ‘Unmonumental’ are Burr’s works, presenting ‘fragmented forms, torn pictures and clashing sounds’ (New Museum) as collage on double sided screens.

Smithgroup on Spear Street

The MDRP crew headed out at 4am to do a shoot with the architects of Smithgroup, an architecture firm lending their talents to 60 Spear St. in San Francisco. We arrived with a 12ft Ryder moving truck packed with gear to disperse over two floors. We worked through to the afternoon coming out on the other side with six images.

Champagne tasting anyone?

After visiting a Vranken tasting at Fort Mason in San Francisco, I met with one of their associates and agreed to have a few of their exquisite bottles shipped to the studio for a round of product photography. Have a sip of their champagne and hear a story about the label’s history and aroma.
